The role of the Public Space House Person is crucial in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction at Renaissance Baton Rouge. This is a full-time overnight position aimed at ensuring all lobby areas, public restrooms, and other designated spaces meet stringent cleanliness and sanitation guidelines at all times. The position demands a high level of attentiveness, professionalism, and courtesy towards guests, fellow employees, and management. The Public Space House Person plays an essential role in the guests' overall experience by maintaining the public spaces that contribute significantly to the hotel's welcoming atmosphere.
Responsibilities include routine cleaning of public areas and restrooms, special cleaning projects, and assisting with Room Attendant duties when necessary. Tasks such as handling lost and found items according to hotel standards, reporting maintenance issues, delivering clean linens, collecting dirty linens and trash, vacuuming corridors, and maintaining stairwells and ash urns are integral to this role. The ideal candidate will be safety-conscious, friendly, and efficient, with strong attention to detail to uphold the Renaissance Baton Rouge standards.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous housekeeping or custodial experience preferred
- Ability to work overnight shifts
- Must be attentive and courteous at all times
- Ability to lift and carry cleaning equipment and materials
- Willingness to adhere to safety guidelines
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Effective communication skills

Job Duties
- Be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to guests, managers and employees
- Practice safe work habits to ensure safety of guests, employees and self
- Handle lost and found items according to hotel standards
- Report maintenance issues to supervisor or manager
- Assist with guestroom cleaning procedures as needed
- Deliver clean linen to assigned sections if necessary
- Pick up dirty linen or trash from room attendants
- Collect trash from service landings and dispose in outside dumpsters
- Vacuum guest corridors
- Keep hallways, public areas and closets neat and organized
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in public restrooms
- Adhere to schedule for project cleaning of public areas
- Maintain stairwells to hotel standards
- Keep ash urns clean and filled with sand
