Job Description
The organization seeking to fill the Loan Operations Specialist or Senior Loan Operations Specialist position is an established financial institution operating in Wilmington, Delaware. This company specializes in the management and administration of complex capital markets transactions, focusing heavily on loan operations. Operating with a hybrid work model, employees are expected to work onsite three days a week from Monday through Friday between 8 AM and 5 PM. The company is known for its dynamic and professional team environment, emphasizing precision, compliance, and robust communication with a wide array of stakeholders including investment banks, private equity and credit funds, law firms, and audit firms.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced financial professional eager to join a growing and increasingly complex Delaware Trust portfolio. The role reports directly to the Head of Loan Operations (US) and involves comprehensive operational activities across an assigned book of business which varies in volume quarterly. The candidate will be deeply involved in transaction administration duties such as processing loan rollovers and facilitating loan payments, while ensuring strict adherence to data governance standards. Responsibilities also include managing loan system data, addressing stakeholder inquiries, and assisting transaction managers during deal closings. This challenging position requires a dedication to accuracy and operational excellence in a fast-paced capital markets environment.
The role provides exposure to specialized loan facility agreements including bilateral, syndicated, and project finance loans, with some crossover into bonds and structured finance, marking it an enriching opportunity for candidates seeking to deepen their expertise in financial services. Applicants should possess strong technical skills in loan operations tools like WSO, Loan IQ, DebtDomain, or similar platforms and demonstrate the ability to scrutinize financial documents and deal structures with meticulous detail. Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, is essential. The organization prioritizes candidates with a strong aptitude for problem-solving, quality assurance, and compliance management to contribute towards seamless loan transactions, client servicing, and regulatory adherence in a client-facing, professional setting.
