With a diverse team of approximately 18,000 associates, Airgas fosters a culture that encourages idea sharing, initiative, and responsible decision-making to ensure high-quality, safe, and efficient service delivery. Present in 60 countries with about 66,500 employees, the parent company serves over 4 million customers and patients worldwide.
At the Tulsa, OK retail shop located on E. 56th Street, Airgas is hiring for the position of Loader/Relief Driver. This full-time role offers a starting pay of $26 per hour, with eligibility for quarterly bonuses and a referral bonus program. The position provides comprehensive family benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D and disability insurance. Benefits also encompass support for parents through up to 14-week paid childbirth leave, 401(k) retirement plans with company match, tuition assistance, paid holidays, vacation, sick time, and early access to benefits after just 30 days of employment. The standard working schedule is Monday through Friday, with some possible alternating weekends on call according to business needs.
This dual-role position combines responsibilities in cylinder loading and plant operations with relief driving and customer service. Duties involve loading and unloading cylinders, moving inventory to designated storage areas, preparing trucks for delivery using order sheets and manifests, and safely operating forklifts with daily pre-trip inspections. The role also requires driving trucks over established routes as well as on non-route deliveries to address urgent customer needs. Customer service duties include selling products and services to new and existing customers, handling payments, and resolving complaints effectively.
Airgas values diversity and inclusivity, seeking to recruit individuals who respect safety and compliance standards, have strong interpersonal and mathematical skills, and demonstrate reliability and punctuality. The company maintains strict adherence to DOT, OSHA, EPA, and FDA regulations, requiring participation in mandatory drug and alcohol testing, safety meetings, and routine vehicle maintenance.
This opportunity is ideal for candidates with a high school diploma or GED, who are at least 18 years old, and possess a current Class A or B CDL with Hazmat and Airbrake endorsements. Forklift certification is required or the ability to become certified is necessary. Candidates must also register for the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
Join Airgas in Tulsa, where you can grow your career in a supportive environment that values your unique contributions, promotes innovation, and offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your life and family. Airgas is an equal opportunity employer dedicated to diversity and inclusion, welcoming applicants regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or any protected characteristic. Your efforts here help sustain the company’s mission of providing quality products and services while safeguarding the environment and the community.
