This role centers on managing a dynamic hospitality environment within the entertainment industry, specifically aligning with the HOB (House of Blues) brand standards. The position entails recruitment, training, development, and supervisory management responsibilities for team members at various levels, including managers, supervisors, and hourly staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining an optimal guest experience by ensuring the environment meets HOB aesthetic standards, facilitating guest requests, and overseeing special events and programming activities. An integral part of this position is enhancing revenue while exercising cost control measures. The role involves working closely with General Managers and Assistant General Managers to meet or exceed budget expectations, participating in annual budget preparations, and implementing quarterly operating plans.
Key personal and interpersonal skills required include the ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude, communicate assertively yet non-aggressively, all while maintaining composure in challenging situations. The role demands creativity, organization, and the ability to listen empathetically to both management and team members. This is a high-paced and demanding environment that requires the ability to stand for extended periods and handle physical demands such as lifting up to 25 lbs safely.
Candidates applying should have 3-5 years of high-volume experience in fine dining, restaurant, club operations, promotions, or programming; 2 or more years of supervisory or management experience; responsible alcohol awareness certification; TIPS certification or equivalent; and strong knowledge of guest relations, wine and liquor, Microsoft Office applications, POS systems, basic accounting, and financial statements. A high school diploma is mandatory, while a college degree is preferred. Job Duties
- Recruit and/or interview manager and supervisor candidates
- recruit, hire and train hourly, non-exempt team members
- conduct annual performance appraisal of team members
- provide concise information for manager appraisals
- provide developmental action plans for team members when required
- conduct disciplinary sessions in accordance with House of Blues guidelines
- ensure appropriate conflict resolution procedures are followed
- ensure compliance with House of Blues workplace standards
- maintain open communication policy
- assist and support team members in their job functions as needed

- oversee and facilitate guest fulfillment and requests
