Job Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • college degree preferred
  • 3-5 years high volume experience in fine dining, restaurant, club operations, promotions, or programming
  • 2 or more years of operations supervisory or management experience
  • responsible alcohol awareness training certification or equivalent
  • T.I.P.S. certification or equivalent dependent on jurisdictional requirements
  • guest relations and customer service skills
  • wine and liquor knowledge
  • proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • general point of sale (POS) system knowledge
  • basic accounting knowledge
  • understanding of P&L statements
  • purchasing and receiving experience
  • inventory management skills
  • training experience

Job Qualifications

  • Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training Certification or equivalent
  • 3-5 years high volume experience in fine dining, restaurant, club operations, promotions, or programming
  • 2 or more years of operations supervisory or management experience
  • T.I.P.S. Certified or equivalent dependent on jurisdictional requirements
  • knowledge of guest relations and customer service
  • wine and liquor knowledge
  • familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • general point of sale (POS) system knowledge
  • basic accounting skills
  • understanding of P&L statements
  • knowledge of purchasing and receiving processes
  • inventory management experience

Job Duties

  • Recruit and/or interview manager and supervisor candidates
  • recruit, hire and train hourly, non-exempt team members
  • conduct annual performance appraisal of team members
  • provide concise information for manager appraisals
  • provide developmental action plans for team members when required
  • conduct disciplinary sessions in accordance with House of Blues guidelines
  • ensure appropriate conflict resolution procedures are followed
  • ensure compliance with House of Blues workplace standards
  • maintain open communication policy
  • assist and support team members in their job functions as needed
  • ensure environment and aesthetic is maintained to House of Blues standards at all times
  • oversee and facilitate guest fulfillment and requests
  • maintain all House of Blues standards
  • oversee revenue center programming and/or late-night activities
  • oversee execution of special events in cooperation with logistics and sales managers
  • generate/enhance revenue to meet or exceed budgetary expectations in conjunction with the general manager and/or assistant general manager
  • maintain effective cost control systems
  • control costs
  • assist general manager and assistant general manager in preparation of annual budget/planning process
  • implement approved budgets
  • assist GM and AGM in creating and implementing quarterly operating plans
  • maintain a positive attitude
  • maintain an objective viewpoint in all circumstances
  • listen empathetically to management and hourly team members
  • maintain organization and focus
  • take creative risks to enhance revenue
  • behave professionally to maintain/enhance positive image of House of Blues
