Job Description
Home Care Assistance of Greater Burlington is a premier provider of non-medical in-home care services tailored specifically for seniors and adults who need compassionate assistance or companionship in their own homes. Located in Essex Junction, Vermont, the company prides itself on its award-winning team and commitment to delivering high-quality care to the community it serves. Their service area encompasses Burlington, Essex Junction, South Burlington, Stowe, St. Albans, and the surrounding Vermont areas. This widespread coverage ensures that seniors and other adults receive trusted and personalized help that allows them to maintain independence, dignity, and comfort in familiar surroundings.
As a live-in caregiver, this role is critical to the mission of Home Care Assistance of Greater Burlington. This position involves covering weekend shifts—Friday, Saturday, and Sunday—in South Burlington, VT. The employment type for this role is full-time, with a pay range of $294.00 to $352.00 per day, reflecting the vital nature and demanding schedule of live-in caregiving. The live-in caregiver essentially becomes a vital companion and support resource for clients, offering 24-hour care with two days off per week, translating to an earning potential of up to $1,760 per week. The role is designed for individuals who are Vermont residents, ensuring local caregivers are available to deliver personal, trusted care.
The live-in caregiver’s responsibilities extend beyond basic companionship. They provide personalized assistance based on individual care service plans, which may include direct and indirect personal care, medication reminders, and maintaining a clean and organized living environment for clients. Emphasis is placed on building trusting relationships with clients and their families, fostering effective communication and professionalism at all times. This comprehensive approach to care ensures that each client’s unique needs—whether related to physical assistance or social interaction—are met effectively.
Candidates are encouraged to bring any previous experience they have from fields such as Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA), Home Health Aide, or Personal Care Aide, as it can provide a useful foundation for this caregiving role. However, previous experience is not strictly mandatory; Home Care Assistance is open to individuals who possess a caring and dedicated attitude, promising to provide thorough training on hands-on care techniques, including their exclusive Balanced Care Method. New caregivers can expand their knowledge through ongoing training programs such as HCA University, which even offers opportunities to earn college credits.
Working for Home Care Assistance carries numerous perks beyond competitive pay, including paid training and orientation, paid sick leave, shift differentials, and several bonus programs like quarterly retention bonuses and referral bonuses up to $250. Employees can also participate in monthly gift card raffles and benefit from a 401k plan with employer matching. The company culture respects and values life experience, encouraging people of all ages to apply, and supports its caregivers with a dedicated team of care managers aimed at fostering success and professional growth.
