This seasonal position invites enthusiastic and dedicated performers to join the Howl-O-Scream Scare Team at SeaWorld San Diego, a premier nighttime event designed to thrill and entertain visitors with spine-chilling experiences. As a Howl-O-Scream Scare Actor (Performer II), candidates will take on various roles that involve engaging guests through immersive, frightening performances. This role is perfect for those who enjoy acting, have a flair for theatrical expression, and want to contribute to one of the most exciting seasonal events in the area. The position offers flexible scheduling, focusing on Thursdays through Sundays from September 11th to November 1st, 2026, aligning with the event schedule.
In this role, the Scare Actor will perform as Haunted House Performers, Pathway Scare Performers, M.C./Event Hosts, Specialty Performers such as contortionists and stilt walkers, DJs, and Internal Ambassadors. The role demands creativity, stamina, and adaptability to perform effectively in various weather conditions and settings within the park. Candidates must be prepared for physical demands, including standing, walking, crawling, vocalizations, and wearing theatrical costumes and makeup.

Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Flexible availability every week Thursdays through Sundays during event dates
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to stand, sit, kneel, crawl, lay down, and jump up repeatedly for prolonged periods
- Comfortable performing in multi-layered clothing, face masks, wigs, and theatrical costuming
- Ability to perform vocalizations such as screams and wails
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Previous guest experience in a high-volume capacity preferred
- Must be a team player and able to accept critiques
- Ability to follow stage direction and show content
- Ability to work varying shifts including after-hour rehearsals
Job Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in theme park entertainment, dance, theatre, or related field preferred
- Ability to accept performance feedback and adapt accordingly
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to work varying shifts and hours based on park operational schedule
- Ability to positively interact with guests and team members of diverse backgrounds
