Job Description

The Junto is a contemporary establishment inspired by Benjamin Franklin's original club of the same name, which was a "club for mutual improvement." Franklin's club was noted for bringing together people from diverse backgrounds to discuss pressing issues and fresh ideas of the time while fostering a sense of community and enjoyment. Mirroring this spirit, The Junto serves as a vibrant public gathering space nestled in the heart of Columbus, designed to be a place where visitors, locals, entrepreneurs, and artists converge to share ideas and inspire one another. This hotel is not just a place to stay but a cultural destination and landmark aimed at defining and enriching the future of Columbus. The establishment emphasizes warm hospitality, a lively atmosphere, and a space that supports creativity and collaboration.

At The Junto, the role of a bartender is pivotal in creating memorable experiences for guests. We seek a skilled craftsman with deep knowledge and appreciation of the art of the cocktail. This bartender must be well-versed in mixology, proficient in crafting both traditional and innovative drinks that elevate the guest experience. The ideal candidate will contribute to customer retention and loyalty by consistently serving top-quality cocktails accompanied by impeccable customer service and a cheerful demeanor. Their expertise will not only enhance the beverage offerings but also enrich the overall hospitality environment.

The bartender is expected to authentically welcome guests with warm and emphatic hospitality, remain continuously curious and knowledgeable of all product offerings and service standards, and maintain efficiency, cleanliness, and organization throughout their shift. They will multitask effectively while adhering to established operating codes and protocols. A responsible approach to alcohol service is paramount, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all patrons. The position requires a professional demeanor and thoughtful nature, exhibiting respectful communication with both team members and guests at all times.

As part of the Makeready collection, The Junto supports its employees with a comprehensive array of benefits designed to promote health, happiness, and well-being. These include accommodating paid time off policies, medical, dental, and vision insurance options, maternity and paternity leave, pet insurance, company-matched dependent care and 401(k) programs, a student loan repayment program, and various ancillary benefits. The workplace culture at The Junto is grounded in guiding principles that foster collaborative success and an inclusive environment where individuality is valued. Makeready LLC and its affiliated entities champion diversity and equal opportunity employment, ensuring that all team members can thrive based on their skills, experience, and job performance, embracing true independence and authenticity on the job.
