The role of Executive Sous Chef at Little Rey is a critical leadership position responsible for managing day-to-day kitchen operations across multiple functions. This includes overseeing production and prep work, stewarding, purchasing and receiving, as well as managing private parties and special events. The Executive Sous Chef plays a key role in ensuring culinary excellence by maintaining high standards for menu item preparation and presentation. Acting as the right hand to the Executive Chef, the Executive Sous Chef efficiently manages the kitchen team, ensuring smooth operations and project completion even in the Executive Chef's absence.
Ideal candidates bring at least five years of progressive culinary experience, with two or more years previously spent in a Sous Chef role. The position demands a calm demeanor under pressure and strong leadership skills to foster a cohesive and motivated team. Additionally, this role requires keen business acumen to manage culinary budgets effectively and aggressively monitor labor costs, scheduling, and overtime. Maximizing productivity while maintaining superior guest satisfaction is a top priority.
The Executive Sous Chef position offers a competitive salary ranging from $70,000 to $85,000 annually, depending on experience, along with a generous quarterly bonus program. Job Requirements
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- At least five years of progressive culinary experience
- Two years in a Sous Chef capacity
- Ability to lead a team effectively
