Job Description
Rocket Farm Restaurants is a renowned group of eateries committed to fostering a work culture that embodies respect, dignity, and care, not only towards guests but also amongst team members. Their philosophy, "We serve the person who is serving the guest," drives a supportive and ethical workplace environment throughout their establishments. One of their vibrant concepts, Little Rey, is inspired by Northern Mexican cuisine and is known for its signature wood-roasted "chicken al carbon." This restaurant offers a casual yet dynamic atmosphere that attracts both culinary enthusiasts and casual diners. As part of Rocket Farm Restaurants, employees gain access to substantial career growth opportunities, inclusive benefits, and a community-focused environment that values team members' contributions and well-being.
The Executive Sous Chef role at Little Rey is pivotal to maintaining the culinary excellence and operational efficiency across the kitchen. This position involves direct oversight of daily kitchen operations including production and prep, stewarding, purchasing, and handling private parties and special events logistics. The Executive Sous Chef ensures that the culinary team consistently creates menu items that meet the highest standards while managing the kitchen seamlessly in the Executive Chef's absence. This role requires a detail-oriented leader who excels in managing teams under pressure, optimizing labor schedules, and controlling budgets to maximize productivity and guest satisfaction. Candidates should ideally have five years of progressive culinary experience, including two years in a Sous Chef capacity. This role offers a competitive salary range from $70,000 to $85,000 annually, depending on experience, along with a generous quarterly bonus program. Additionally, employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package after just 30 days, which includes major medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
The culture at Rocket Farm Restaurants supports balance and advancement, offering performance-based raises and promotions, paid time off including specific leave for childbirth recovery and parental support, as well as long-term retention bonuses. Employees also benefit from time off on major holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas and can enjoy a 50% discount at all Rocket Farm locations across multiple cities. Rocket Farm University provides specialized leadership training, mentorship programs, and advisory councils, creating an environment where culinary professionals can grow and thrive while contributing to a unique and heartfelt group culture. Applicants will find that this opportunity goes beyond a job; it offers an inspiring career path within a company that genuinely cares about its people and their development.
