This approach fosters a supportive and ethical work environment where every team member is valued and empowered to deliver their best. Rocket Farm Restaurants focuses on crafting memorable moments for guests by serving not only outstanding food but also exceptional service inspired by a passion for hospitality. At the heart of this group is a core philosophy: "We serve the person who is serving the guest." This principle guides all operations and interactions within the company, ensuring that respect and quality underline every aspect of the guest experience.
Little Rey, a vibrant and ultra-casual sister restaurant to Superica within the Rocket Farm family, draws inspiration from Northern Mexican cuisine. Celebrated for its signature wood-roasted "chicken al carbon," Little Rey offers a dynamic atmosphere and unique culinary offerings that attract diners seeking authentic flavors with a contemporary twist. Positioned within this thriving environment, the Executive Sous Chef role is pivotal to maintaining Little Rey’s high standards and operational excellence.
The Executive Sous Chef at Little Rey is responsible for managing day-to-day kitchen operations, overseeing production and prep work, stewarding, purchasing, receiving, and coordinating special events and private parties. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, this leadership position ensures the culinary team consistently delivers exceptional menu items prepared to the highest standards. The Executive Sous Chef is also tasked with maintaining operational efficiency by closely managing labor, scheduling, and overtime, all while adhering to a culinary budget that balances quality with financial stewardship.
Ideal candidates possess at least five years of progressive culinary experience, including two years with sous chef responsibilities. The role requires a leader who can remain calm and composed under pressure while fostering a cohesive and motivated kitchen team. This position blends creativity with operational discipline, making it essential for candidates to demonstrate excellent leadership and communication skills.
This is a full-time position with a competitive salary ranging from $70,000 to $85,000 per year, dependent on experience, complemented by a generous quarterly bonus program. Employees become eligible for full benefits after 30 days, including major medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. Rocket Farm Restaurants also offers dynamic performance-based raises and promotions, significant long-term retention bonuses, and extensive paid time off, including childbirth recovery and parental leave that promote a healthy work-life balance.
Joining Rocket Farm Restaurants means becoming part of a dynamic, innovative, and heartfelt community committed to career growth. Employees benefit from Rocket Farm University, which provides specialized leadership classes and personalized career advancement support, as well as employee-led mentorship programs, advisory councils, and safety committees that ensure a collaborative and supportive work environment. Additionally, team members enjoy a 50 percent discount at all Rocket Farm Restaurants, enhancing their connection to the company’s culinary culture.
Rocket Farm Restaurants is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to compliance with federal employment laws, upholding fundamental worker rights in every aspect of employment. Candidates seeking a rewarding career blending culinary artistry with leadership and operational expertise are encouraged to apply and become part of a leading restaurant group known for its dedication to exceptional hospitality and workplace excellence.
