Job Description

Rocket Farm Restaurants is a renowned company rooted deeply in a culture that emphasizes respect, dignity, and care among its team members. Their core philosophy is centered on "We serve the person who is serving the guest." This guiding principle is not merely a practice on the restaurant floor but a fundamental way of interaction and collaboration within the kitchen and across staff. Rocket Farm Restaurants have earned their reputation by treating their employees with as much care and attention as their guests, effectively fostering an inclusive and respectful work environment. This approach nurtures teamwork and honors the contributions of every individual, from kitchen staff to front-of-house personnel, ensuring a seamless and outstanding dining experience for guests.

One of their standout dining establishments is Little Rey, located in Piedmont Heights. Inspired by Northern Mexican cuisine, Little Rey serves as a vibrant, super-casual sibling to the more established Superica. The restaurant’s hallmark is its wood-roasted "chicken al carbon," symbolizing the authentic and hearty flavors that characterize its menu and ambiance. Little Rey combines culinary excellence with a lively atmosphere that invites guests to indulge in rich flavors while enjoying a warm and welcoming setting.

The role of Executive Chef at Little Rey represents a prestigious leadership opportunity within Rocket Farm Restaurants. This position demands an enthusiastic and experienced culinary leader who will oversee the entire culinary team and manage all kitchen operations. The Executive Chef will be responsible for directing daily production and prep activities, catering logistics, and overseeing purchasing and receiving protocols. Ensuring high standards, the chef must foster efficiency, maximize productivity, and guarantee total guest satisfaction by continuously reviewing and responding to guest feedback.

Additionally, the Executive Chef plays a pivotal role in staff education and development. They will directly oversee recipe execution and conduct training for culinary and service staff, ensuring consistency and quality across all offerings. During busy service times, the chef will manage food production and plating, maintaining high culinary standards right at the pass. Managing budget constraints by meeting or exceeding food cost targets is a critical aspect of the role, necessitating a balance between creativity and financial stewardship.

This position seeks candidates with a minimum of 10 years of progressive culinary experience, including at least five years in senior management roles. The Executive Chef will lead by example, fostering an environment where culinary staff are encouraged to grow professionally and prepared for future advancement.

The position offers a competitive salary range from $85,000 to $120,000 per year, dependent on experience, alongside a generous quarterly bonus program. Full benefits become available after 30 days of employment and include major medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage. Rocket Farm Restaurants prides itself on creating a supportive and ethical work environment characterized by dynamic performance-based raises and promotions, paid time off, childbirth recovery and parental leave, and significant long-term retention bonuses.

Employees enjoy time off on major holidays, such as Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day, allowing for meaningful personal time. Additional perks include a 50% discount at all Rocket Farm Restaurants located in various cities such as Atlanta, Charlotte, Nashville, Houston, Raleigh, and Winter Park. The company is also dedicated to career development through Rocket Farm University, which provides specialized leadership classes and personalized support. Employee-led mentorship programs, advisory councils, and safety committees further contribute to a collaborative and empowering workplace culture.

As an equal opportunity employer, Rocket Farm Restaurants ensures that all potential applicants are informed of their rights in accordance with federal employment laws. The company’s commitment to a fair, respectful, and supportive work environment makes Little Rey a compelling choice for culinary professionals aspiring to lead and grow within an innovative and heartfelt organization.
