Job Description
Rocket Farm Restaurants is a renowned hospitality group recognized for its commitment to fostering a supportive, respectful, and ethical work environment. At the core of its culture lies a unique philosophy: "We serve the person who is serving the guest." This principle is not merely a customer service strategy but a deeply embedded ethos that emphasizes dignity, respect, and care among all team members—especially within the kitchen. The company believes that the treatment and support employees offer one another behind the scenes directly influence the quality of service delivered to guests in the dining area. This atmosphere promotes teamwork, collaboration, and a sense of belonging, setting Rocket Farm Restaurants apart in the competitive restaurant industry.
One of Rocket Farm Restaurants' celebrated venues is Little Rey, located in Piedmont Heights. Little Rey draws inspiration from Northern Mexican cuisine, with wood-roasted "chicken al carbon" as its signature dish, presented in a vibrant and super-casual setting. This restaurant exemplifies the group’s dedication to culinary innovation and cultural authenticity, attracting both locals and visitors who appreciate bold flavors and welcoming ambiance.
Little Rey is currently seeking a passionate and experienced Executive Chef to lead its culinary team. This role entails managing all aspects of kitchen operations, including production, preparation, catering, purchasing, and receiving. The Executive Chef is charged with driving maximum efficiency and productivity among culinary staff to ensure exceptional guest satisfaction. This leadership position requires the chef to actively monitor and assess daily guest feedback, refining culinary offerings and service delivery accordingly.
A key responsibility of the Executive Chef is to oversee recipe execution and the educational process for both culinary and service staff. This ensures consistency in quality and fosters ongoing learning and skill development. The chef is also involved in directing food production and plating during service, maintaining high standards from the kitchen pass to the dining room. Effective training of line cooks and meeting or surpassing the budgeted food cost percentage are critical priorities. Additionally, the Executive Chef champions a culture of education and growth, encouraging and preparing culinary team members for future advancement within the organization.
Candidates for this leadership position should possess at least 10 years of progressive culinary experience, with a minimum of five years in senior management roles. Such experience enables the Executive Chef to effectively balance creativity with operational management and budget oversight. Rocket Farm Restaurants values innovation, heartfelt dedication, and a collaborative spirit, making this an exceptional opportunity to join a dynamic team.
The position offers a competitive salary ranging from $85,000 to $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience, plus a generous quarterly bonus program. Full benefits eligibility begins after just 30 days of employment, reinforcing the company’s commitment to employee well-being. Comprehensive benefits include major medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage.
In addition to competitive pay and insurance benefits, employees enjoy a range of supportive work-life balance initiatives. These include paid time off, childbirth recovery leave, and parental leave. Employees also benefit from significant long-term retention bonuses, paid holidays including Thanksgiving and Christmas, and a 50% discount at all Rocket Farm Restaurants across multiple cities including Atlanta, Charlotte, Nashville, Houston, Raleigh, and Winter Park.
The company invests in its workforce through Rocket Farm University, offering specialized leadership classes and personalized support for career advancement. Employee-led mentorship programs, an advisory council, and a safety committee further cultivate an inclusive and growth-oriented workplace. Rocket Farm Restaurants is an equal opportunity employer, dedicated to compliance with all federal employment laws, ensuring fairness and equity in its hiring practices.
Joining Little Rey as an Executive Chef means becoming part of a vibrant community that values culinary excellence, team support, and continuous improvement. This role is ideal for a driven professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about leading culinary teams to new heights in a reputable and innovative setting.
