Job Description

Generations is a family-first, family-owned, and family-operated business that has been serving senior living communities across California, Colorado, Oregon, Utah, and Washington since 1943. With a deep-rooted commitment to enhancing the lives of seniors, Generations is dedicated to creating a supportive and joyful environment for both its residents and staff. The company takes pride in its unique approach to senior care, which focuses on bringing generations together through compassion, respect, and the celebration of individuality. Known for its exceptional mission, vision, and values, Generations embodies a culture where every team member is valued for their unique gifts and skills, fostering a true sense of family within the workplace.

The role of the Line Cook is integral to the Culinary Department, responsible for maintaining efficient food preparation and ensuring the highest quality standards are met according to the guidance of supervisors. This position requires adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations governing facility operation, ensuring safety and quality are never compromised. In this capacity, the Line Cook not only contributes to daily operational success but also incorporates Generations’ core Mission, Vision, and Values into their everyday tasks and interactions. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors and seeking a part-time opportunity that comes with comprehensive benefits and a supportive team environment.

The Line Cook position is available part-time at two locations: Mercer Commons and The Winslow. At Mercer Commons, the schedule includes Sundays and Fridays from 1:00 pm to 7:30 pm, while at The Winslow, the position covers weekend shifts on Saturdays and Sundays from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm. Holiday availability is preferred, providing chances to engage with the community during special times of the year. The role offers competitive benefits for full-time employees, including paid time off, medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) employer match, employee engagement programs, a safe working environment, on-the-job training, and opportunities for career growth.

Ideal candidates for this role will come with a high school diploma or equivalent, and while previous experience working in a commercial kitchen is preferred, it is not mandatory. Generations provides CPR and First Aid certification training upon hire, ensuring all staff are equipped to handle emergency situations confidently. Successful candidates must also demonstrate the ability to pass pre-employment physical and background checks, work both independently and collaboratively, and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. Compassion and patience are paramount qualities for anyone looking to thrive in this rewarding environment.

By joining Generations as a Line Cook, you become part of a team that truly values each member’s contributions while working towards a common goal: enriching the lives of seniors and fostering a community that feels like family. The company prides itself on providing a unique and fulfilling workplace experience unlike any other, where every person is respected and supported as they grow their skills and make a tangible difference in the community. If you are passionate, dedicated, and eager to be part of a compassionate team, this opportunity offers you a home and a career path that matters.
