Recognized for high standards in food safety and preparation, this dining venue attracts both loyal patrons and new guests who appreciate consistent quality and innovative menu offerings.
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Line Cook to join this dynamic culinary team. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a busy kitchen environment and enjoy working collaboratively under pressure. The Line Cook will handle multiple food preparation and cooking duties, maintaining the flow of food production while ensuring each dish meets the restaurant's stringent standards. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate flexibility by assisting with restocking, cleaning, and other kitchen-related functions as needed.
The Line Cook’s responsibilities encompass preparing a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, and vegetables using various cooking techniques including broiling, grilling, frying, and sautéing. This role demands precision in portioning food items according to recipe specifications and standard portion sizes to guarantee consistency in taste and presentation. Handling and storing ingredients properly to maintain freshness and quality is also a core aspect of the position. Moreover, the Line Cook will assist in station preparation, ensure proper plating and garnishing, and support colleagues during peak service hours.
This role also plays a significant part in quality control, with responsibility for monitoring food temperatures, ensuring all products meet the established cooking and safety standards, and adhering strictly to recipe cards rather than memory. Ensuring all kitchen equipment is functioning properly and reporting any malfunctions is vital to maintaining efficiency and safety in the kitchen. The Line Cook will also help with cleaning duties such as maintaining sanitary workstations and managing kitchen waste.
Successful candidates will demonstrate clear communication skills with the kitchen and dining room personnel, participate actively in team meetings, and contribute suggestions for process improvement. The ideal Line Cook candidates have at least two years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking, including six months in a similar role. This role offers competitive compensation, flexible scheduling, and opportunities for career development in a well-respected culinary operation. This position is full-time, offering an engaging work environment where skilled cooks can grow and contribute to a thriving restaurant business.
