This role is integral in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene standards essential to patient safety and comfort within AdventHealth facilities. The Cleanliness Specialist/Environmental Services team member ensures that all patient and public areas assigned for daily cleaning are meticulously sanitized, contributing significantly to infection control measures. Responsibilities include collecting and disposing of trash, stocking supplies like paper and cleaning solutions, and maintaining proper use of cleaning equipment. Utilizing advanced bed management systems and handheld technology, this role supports operational efficiency by assisting with patient bed throughput. The specialist also handles the collection and staging of soiled linens, proper disposal of biohazardous and normal waste, and adheres strictly to facility standards in cleaning areas contaminated with bodily fluids. Precision in documenting all work performed is critical to this role, emphasizing adherence to safety protocols and infection control guidelines. Candidates will demonstrate knowledge of environmental cleaning within healthcare settings, ability to communicate effectively, operate computers, and deliver excellent customer service. Job Requirements
- High school grad or equiv preferred
- Housekeeping or custodial experience preferred
- Ability to communicate in English
- Basic computer skills and use of mouse and keyboard
- Must be able to operate a computer using standard office software
- Able to read and understand Safety Data Sheets product labels and perform basic arithmetic
- Must be able to follow oral and written assignments
- Knowledge of basic environmental duties
- Ability to maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to interact with patients

Job Duties
- Clean assigned patient and public areas daily including collecting and removing trash and sanitizing all surfaces
- Stock paper items cleaning solutions and other supplies in assigned areas as necessary or designated
- Demonstrate complete knowledge of infection control isolation procedures and proper operation of cleaning equipment
- Utilize Bed Management system to maintain productive flow of bed throughput using hand-held technology for tracking
- Collect and stage soiled linen for pick up
- Dispose of normal and biohazardous waste
- Clean and disinfect areas containing bodily fluids in accordance with facility standards
- Document all work performed
- Access ancillary units restrooms offices in assigned areas
