The Linen Runner Housekeeping position is a key role within the Housekeeping department under the supervision of the Supervisor, Housekeeping - Hotel. This role is responsible for maintaining the 5-star, 5-diamond level of service by efficiently managing all linen and terry-related tasks. The Linen Runner is tasked with sorting dirty linens and terry cloth materials, receiving clean items delivered by an external laundry company, and ensuring proper storage and distribution throughout the hotel. Additionally, this position involves the careful handling and segregation of stained linens, damaged items, rags, and biohazard materials into appropriately marked containers to comply with health and safety regulations.

Operating within a fast-paced and high-demand environment, the Linen Runner must adhere to OSHA guidelines for chemical usage and participate in safety training to ensure the correct handling and labeling of hazardous supplies. The role requires proactive collaboration with other team members and departments, supporting the holistic goals and priorities of the company. The Linen Runner also plays a part in maintaining all equipment and reporting maintenance needs, thus contributing to the smooth operation of the housekeeping function.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Minimum one year of housekeeping experience in a related hotel position preferred
  • Schedule flexibility including evenings, overnight, weekends, holidays, and overtime if needed
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • May be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Minimum one year of housekeeping experience in a hotel setting preferred
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to count and provide inventory numbers
  • Ability to identify and report issues
  • Ability to assist housekeeping leadership with requests and communication
  • Personable and professional with discretion in communication

Job Duties

  • Sort dirty linen and terry in the laundry room and place full bins in designated pickup areas for the laundry company
  • Transport linen bins with clean linen and terry to designated areas once delivered
  • Restock housekeeping carts with linen, terry, amenities and supplies
  • Separate stained linen, rags, damaged items, and biohazards into marked bins
  • Ensure proper usage and labeling of chemicals and cleaning supplies according to OSHA and enterprise regulations
  • Maintain equipment and follow health and safety guidelines
  • Report maintenance issues pertaining to the chute room to the Supervisor or Office Coordinator
  • Motivate and support housekeeping staff by leading, coaching, and sharing knowledge
  • Perform additional duties to support efficient operation of the department
