We are currently seeking a skilled and responsible Tractor-Trailer Driver to join our dedicated team. This full-time position focuses on transporting products from our warehouse to various customer locations using tractor-trailers while adhering strictly to safety regulations and company standards. The role demands a professional who is detail-oriented, dependable, and possesses a strong commitment to safety and customer service.

The Tractor-Trailer Driver will be responsible for the safe operation of a 3-axle tractor and 45 to 48-foot trailers, including straight trucks, ensuring all deliveries are completed on schedule and in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and food safety protocols. Essential duties include loading and unloading products according to client specifications, verifying invoices and paperwork for accuracy, and maintaining the vehicle and equipment in optimal condition through regular inspections and reporting.

This position requires excellent communication skills to effectively interact with customers and provide courteous service. The driver will also communicate with management regarding any deviations, issues with routes, trailers, or products to facilitate quick resolution. The role entails working a flexible schedule, often overnight, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as necessary to meet customer demands and maintain the integrity of delivery operations.

Candidates must have a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License, be insurable to operate company vehicles, and possess a minimum of one year of tractor-trailer driving experience or an equivalent certification. Physical demands include frequent sitting, talking, and hearing, with occasional requirements to lift, push, or move products weighing up to 50 pounds and maneuvering through various environments under different weather conditions.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED or equivalent degree
At least 1 year of tractor-trailer driving experience preferred
Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License
Must be insurable to operate company vehicles
Knowledge of DOT regulations and Hazmat guidelines
Ability to drive long distances and in various weather conditions
Ability to maintain alertness and awareness during day and night driving
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and handle 2 wheel hand carts
Strong communication skills in English
Ability to perform basic math and plan work independently

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or GED or equivalent degree preferred
Completion of a tractor-trailer driving school accepted as equivalent
Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License required
Must be insurable to operate a vehicle as a condition of employment
Knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations and Hazmat guidelines
Skill in long-distance driving and varied weather conditions
Ability to drive tractor-trailers both day and night while remaining alert
Ability to meet or exceed company productivity standards
Proficient in operating 3 axle tractors, 45 to 48-foot trailers, straight trucks, onboard computers, keypads, and 2 wheel hand carts
Strong communication skills in English
Ability to perform basic math functions
Effective planning and problem-solving skills

Job Duties

Safely transports product from the warehouse to the customer location and ensures the product is delivered on a timely basis, according to assigned route
loads and unloads product according to customer specifications
Ensures all paperwork is completed according to established company and governmental guidelines, including DOT electronic or manual logs, inspections, vehicle maintenance reports, and pre and post-trip reports
Ensures all food safety protocols are met according to established guidelines, such as maintaining proper temperatures in delivery vehicles
Follows preferred work methods at all times and immediately advises management of any unsafe conditions
Maintains and safely operates all assigned equipment, including pallets, load bars, SLS unit, and personal protective equipment
Develops and establishes good relationships with customers by providing excellent and courteous service with clear communication
Communicates with management regarding any deviations to route, trailer or loading issues, and/or customer or product issues
Works assigned schedules including possible overtime, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts to meet customer needs
exhibits regular and predictable attendance
Performs other duties as assigned by management
