The role of Line Runner at Piping Rock Health Products is pivotal in maintaining the efficiency and quality of the packaging line operations. Reporting directly to the Director of Packaging, Manager, Supervisor, or Lead, the Line Runner ensures that all operations comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs). This position is integral to meeting both the quality standards and production quantity targets set by the company. The Line Runner is responsible for a variety of tasks, including setting up and operating packaging lines productively, validating packaging materials and components prior to production, and completing all necessary documentation accurately. Special emphasis is placed on maintaining a clean and organized work area and ensuring that no machinery is left unattended during operation. The Line Runner also plays a critical role in training new line attendants, helping them adapt to operational standards and safety protocols.

This position demands strong attention to detail, adherence to strict safety and quality standards, and the ability to work in a physically challenging environment that may involve exposure to certain allergens and chemicals. Candidates should be prepared to engage in tasks that require standing for up to eight hours, handling materials that weigh up to 50 pounds, and performing repetitive motions such as bending and twisting. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency preferred
  • Prior manufacturing or packaging experience preferred
  • Ability to read and write simple correspondence in English
  • Bi-lingual is a plus
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Must be able to respond to verbal and written instruction
  • Must comply with GMP requirements
  • Specific functions and documents will be discussed in GMP and on the job training
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
  • Work environment may be exposed to powders, chemicals, and allergens including peanuts, tree nuts, milk, dairy, eggs, wheat, gluten, soy, fish, and shellfish
  • Ability to work in a physically challenging environment, including bending, twisting, and standing for up to 8 hours

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Ensures that the packaging line is set-up and runs productively following all Packaging Operations SOPs and cGMPs
  • Completes appropriate paperwork
  • Responsible for proper data entry in all packaging log books
  • Checking of bulk and packaging components before start-up of line
  • Cleaning and organizing of the packaging line
  • Ensure no machines running are left unattended
  • Participates in training of new line attendants
  • Additional duties as assigned
