Job Description
Cargill is a globally recognized family-owned company dedicated to providing innovative food and agricultural solutions that help nourish the world in a safe, responsible, and sustainable manner. Founded on a commitment to ethical business practices and sustainability, Cargill operates at the heart of the global supply chain, serving as a vital link between producers and customers. The company specializes in sourcing, producing, and delivering essential products that are integral to daily living, thus supporting businesses in growth, enabling communities to prosper, and enhancing consumers' quality of life. With a diverse portfolio that includes poultry, beef, eggs, alternative proteins, salt, oils, starches, sweeteners, cocoa, and chocolate, Cargill serves a wide range of markets, including food manufacturers, food service providers, and retailers. This breadth of product offerings underscores Cargill's role as a comprehensive provider of innovative ingredients and branded goods in the food industry.
The role of Process Operator II is situated within Cargill's Food Enterprise division, which focuses on delivering a complete range of specialty ingredients and branded products tailored to the needs of food manufacturers and other clients. This position is full-time, offering night shifts from 10 pm to 6:30 am, with compensation starting at $22.00 per hour plus a shift differential of $0.60 per hour. The Process Operator II plays a critical role in the production line by operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting a series of machines and equipment. The operator must manage several interacting process variables while adhering to company policies and safety regulations to maximize throughput and ensure the production of high-quality food products. Working in this role involves using mobile powered equipment such as forklifts and loaders, performing preventative maintenance using hand and power tools, monitoring and adjusting machine processes, and recording data accurately in computer systems.
At Cargill, the Process Operator II not only contributes to maintaining seamless operations on the manufacturing floor but also provides feedback to improve operational procedures, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The role demands an individual who is physically capable of performing tasks that may include lifting heavy weights up to 50 lbs, working at elevated heights, and adapting to varying indoor and outdoor environmental conditions. A minimum of one year of production or plant experience is essential, along with the ability to operate forklifts or similar equipment safely. Cargill provides a stimulating and fast-paced work environment that challenges employees' abilities while offering strong career development opportunities within one of the world’s largest and most stable private companies.
Cargill is also deeply committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion and strives to create an accessible and supportive workplace. The company invites applications from individuals of all backgrounds, including people with disabilities, and offers appropriate accommodations during the recruitment process. This inclusive approach highlights Cargill’s dedication to nurturing talent and providing equal opportunities for all employees. Embracing this role means joining a reputable global leader in food production that values safety, quality, sustainability, and employee growth, promising both professional fulfillment and competitive compensation.
