Cheeky's is a vibrant neighborhood seafood restaurant and oyster bar located in the heart of St. Petersburg's Grand Central District. This unique establishment blends the charm of a salty Old Florida fish shack with the sophistication of a classic New England oyster bar, offering a diverse menu full of classic American dishes that cater to a wide variety of palates. Currently, Cheeky's is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join their kitchen team as Line Cooks and Prep Cooks. The role is a full-time, hourly position that offers a starting pay of $18 to $21 per hour, depending on experience. This position involves working four to five days weekly with two consecutive days off, rotating holidays, and flexibility to cover special events, making it an excellent opportunity for those looking for a stable yet dynamic work environment. Job Requirements

  • Minimum 1-year cooking experience
  • Active Food Handlers certificate
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
  • Ability to lift and carry items up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Good manual dexterity
  • Availability to work four to five days per week with flexibility for special events
  • Eligible to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-year cooking experience
  • Active Food Handlers certificate
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Knowledge of food health and safety regulations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment

Job Duties

  • Assisting in preparing meal ingredients including washing, peeling, cutting, and slicing fruits and vegetables
  • marinating meats
  • Preparing all foods as directed by the head chef and company standard
  • Plating and garnishing meal items according to instructions from the head cook
  • Collaborating with cooks to ensure tasks are completed timely
  • Ensuring cooking stations are stocked with ingredients and equipment
  • Cleaning and disinfecting cooking stations and kitchen surfaces before and after shifts
  • Adhering to food rotation practices to reduce waste and prevent contamination
  • Assessing quality of delivered food supplies to meet restaurant standards
