Job Description
Ted's Montana Grill is a premium full-service restaurant known for its commitment to quality, freshness, and hospitality. Established with the spirit of the Big Sky, this dining establishment goes beyond the ordinary to create a polished and professional yet cool atmosphere commonly referred to as 3 PC (Premium, Polished, and Professional, but also Cool). Ted's Montana Grill prides itself on its scratch kitchen where every menu item is crafted in small batches with high-quality ingredients to ensure exceptional flavor and freshness. This dedication is supported by an on-premise butcher shop that hand-carves and grinds fresh beef and bison daily, guaranteeing peak freshness and superior taste. As a restaurant that values the Heart-of-House team tremendously, Ted’s Montana Grill cultivates an environment where employees are recognized for their contributions and personal interaction with guests is encouraged, especially in the display kitchens.
The roles of Line Cooks, Prep Cooks, and Dishwashers at Ted's Montana Grill are vital to continuing the tradition of premium dining experiences. These team members not only prepare made-from-scratch meals but also engage in showmanship and guest interaction, enhancing the dining experience. Ted's Montana Grill provides competitive wages ranging from $16 to $18 per hour, depending on experience, along with flexible scheduling to accommodate employees' needs. The company is dedicated to supporting its team through medical benefits, a 401(k) plan with matching contributions, and multiple career advancement opportunities, noting that half of their managers began as team members. The workplace culture emphasizes pride, sustainability, and community, with the restaurant closing on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day to promote family and quality of life for all employees.
Ted’s Montana Grill places great importance on a friendly, team-oriented work environment where individuals passionate about great food can thrive. Team members must be prepared to stand for the entire shift and undertake physically demanding tasks such as bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, and lifting heavy items frequently, including tubs, trays, and cases that may weigh up to 100 pounds. Exposure to kitchen conditions such as smoke, steam, high temperatures, humidity, and extreme cold is common, making physical stamina essential for this role. Beyond the kitchen, Ted's Montana Grill also embraces sustainability initiatives, working closely with local growers and utilizing eco-friendly products and practices throughout their operations.
As part of the Ted’s Montana Grill team, employees become part of a hospitality culture devoted to providing warm, memorable guest experiences inspired by historic 19th-century saloons where cattlemen and land barons relaxed after a day’s work. This rich history and sustainability mindset reflect the company’s broader commitment to people, product excellence, and prosperity. The company is proud to be an Equal Opportunity and e-Verify employer, encouraging all interested candidates who meet the requirements to apply and contribute to this vibrant team atmosphere.
