The Line Cook/The Dishwasher role at Five Iron is a vital position supporting the kitchen team leader in daily operations. This part-time, non-exempt position offers a competitive hourly wage of $19 to $21, with night and weekend shifts required to meet the demands of the busy hospitality environment. The primary responsibility is to prepare and cook a variety of flavorful appetizers and entrees, ensuring that each dish served meets the high standards Five Iron guests expect. In addition to food preparation, this role requires maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for all kitchen tools and equipment, vital for food safety and operational efficiency.

Beyond cooking, the Line Cook/The Dishwasher plays a dual role by handling dishwashing duties such as cleaning, sanitizing, and organizing dishes and utensils. Keeping the kitchen and food prep areas spotless by sweeping, mopping, and emptying trash containers are also essential tasks. This role demands strong collaboration with both kitchen and front-of-house teams to deliver seamless service, emphasizing the importance of hospitality in every aspect of the guest experience.

Job Duties

  • Open/close kitchen when needed
  • prepare a variety of different appetizers/entrees for guests and ensure food preparation to keep the kitchen and line fully stocked
  • wash and sanitize all pans, utensils, and dishes
  • clean, sanitize, and maintain dish machine
  • scrape, rinse, and load dishes and utensils into dish machine
  • unload and organize them properly
  • empty trash containers regularly and maintain a clean work area by sweeping and mopping as needed
  • perform additional cleaning duties and clean food prep stations and equipment as requested
  • control and direct the food preparation process while collaborating with front-of-house staff to ensure excellent service
  • deliver a consistently high level of customer service to each guest
