The Line Cook/The Dishwasher role at Five Iron is a critical position that supports the team leader in managing the kitchen's operations effectively. This part-time, non-exempt position offers competitive pay ranging from $18 to $20 per hour and requires night and weekend availability. The primary responsibility involves preparing and cooking a variety of flavorful appetizers and entrées, ensuring that every dish meets the high standards set by Five Iron. The role also involves maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen, including washing and sanitizing pans, utensils, dishes, and kitchen equipment. As the Dishwasher, the individual will be responsible for operating and maintaining the dish machine, organizing clean items, and keeping the work area tidy by emptying trash and performing sweeping and mopping tasks.
In addition to food preparation and kitchen maintenance, the Line Cook/The Dishwasher is expected to collaborate closely with the front-of-house staff to ensure a seamless guest experience. This includes controlling and directing the food preparation process and providing exemplary customer service. Flexibility in working hours and the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds during operations are also essential. Job Duties
- Open/close kitchen when needed
- prepare a variety of different appetizers/entrees for guests and ensure food preparation to keep the kitchen and line fully stocked
- wash and sanitize all pans, utensils, and dishes
- clean, sanitize, and maintain dish machine
- scrape, rinse, and load dishes and utensils into dish machine
- unload and organize them properly
- empty trash containers regularly and maintain a clean work area by sweeping and mopping as needed
- perform additional cleaning duties and clean food prep stations and equipment as requested
- control and direct the food preparation process while collaborating with front-of-house staff to ensure excellent service
- deliver a consistently high level of customer service to each guest
