Job Description

Ruby Slipper Restaurant Group originated from a humble restaurant located in the vibrant Mid-City neighborhood of New Orleans. Since its inception, it has expanded into a prominent restaurant group that operates over 20 locations across the Southeast United States under two distinct brands: Ruby Slipper and Ruby Sunshine. These concepts are deeply rooted in the culinary traditions and cultural spirit of New Orleans, particularly focusing on an all-day brunch experience that celebrates the city's rich heritage and flavors. Known for their warm, welcoming atmosphere and high-quality food, Ruby Slipper Restaurant Group continues to grow and establish itself as a leader in the brunch dining scene in the region.

The establishment prides itself on fostering a work culture that embraces the lively, soulful essence of New Orleans, prioritizing both the enjoyment of work hours and the quality of life outside of work. One of the standout features of working with Ruby Slipper Restaurant Group is their commitment to daytime shifts only – ensuring that team members can enjoy breakfast and lunch service while still being home in time for dinner. This day-only schedule is particularly attractive to individuals seeking work-life balance, making the positions here not just jobs but part of a sustainable lifestyle.

The role available is that of a Kitchen Team Member focused on hot food preparation, which is a critical position in maintaining the standards and reputation of Ruby Slipper Restaurant Group. Successful candidates will be responsible for accurately and efficiently preparing hot food products, adhering strictly to established recipes and portion sizes to ensure consistent quality. This role requires a strong understanding of food preparation techniques, food safety, and kitchen operations. It involves not only cooking but also final plate preparation including plating, garnishing, and ensuring that each dish meets the aesthetic and taste standards expected by customers.

Candidates chosen for this role must have a passion for cooking, embracing the philosophy that butter and bacon make everything better, a nod to the indulgent and flavorful culinary style that defines New Orleans cuisine. The role is perfect for those who appreciate discipline in the kitchen, as compliance with company standards, policies, and procedures is paramount. The physical demands include the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house teams, maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the work area, and endure the physicality of the job such as lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, and performing repetitive movements such as bending and stooping.

Ruby Slipper Restaurant Group offers more than just a job; it provides employees with an opportunity to become part of a dynamic team that values growth, quality, and the joy of sharing remarkable food experiences. Employees benefit from a supportive environment with opportunities for pay increases and career advancement, reflecting their commitment to nurturing talent and dedication. The company also offers competitive benefits including medical and dental insurance, paid time off, and family meals and discounts, making it an attractive workplace for culinary professionals who want to build a lasting career in a respected and growing foodservice company.
