The Line Cook ensures that every dish leaving the kitchen is crafted to perfection, maintaining a high level of consistency and portion control to maximize cost-effectiveness while meeting guest expectations. The ability to work well under pressure in a scratch kitchen environment is essential, as is the capability to adjust to a variable work schedule that includes mornings, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
This role requires adherence to strict safety and cleanliness standards in line with local Health Department regulations, maintaining the overall safety of both the work environment and the surrounding area for themselves, coworkers, and guests. The Line Cook is responsible for communicating issues promptly to supervisors, responding to hazardous situations, and ensuring compliance with all food safety codes. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work cooperatively with others are critical, as is maintaining effective communication with employees, management, and guests alike.
In addition to culinary expertise, the ideal candidate will have strong verbal communication skills, customer service orientation, the ability to perform duties with accuracy and independence, and a passion for creating outstanding meals that delight our guests. Completion of the Serve-Safe program post-hire is required to ensure adherence to food safety standards. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience cooking in a restaurant environment preferred
- Must complete Serve-Safe program after hire
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work in a scratch kitchen
- Strong verbal communication skills and customer service-related skills
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders
- Ability to speak and write clearly, concisely and persuasively using correct grammar, spelling and punctuation

Job Duties
- Prepares quality food according to standardized recipes
- Maintains a clean, safe facility that fall in line with local Health Department Regulations
- Adheres to portions and preparation guidelines for cost effectiveness
- Reviews and adheres to schedule
- Takes care of guests needs and food orders/specifications with immediacy and accuracy
- Ensures compliance with Health Department codes and regulations
- Keeps direct supervisor promptly informed of key/significant issues or concerns
