This full-time role offers a competitive hourly wage ranging between $20 and $23 per hour, reflecting the importance of the position within the restaurant’s kitchen. The primary responsibility of the line cook is to prepare and cook menu items meticulously according to the Hogsalt Recipe Index, ensuring impeccable quality and timely service. In this crucial role, the line cook contributes directly to the operational success of the kitchen, collaborating closely with other kitchen staff members and under the guidance of sous chefs and executive chefs.\n\nThe position requires strong communication skills to maintain smooth interactions during service and uphold the restaurant’s high standards. Line cooks are expected to manage their stations efficiently by setting up and stocking supplies properly, cleaning thoroughly after each shift, and adhering to strict food safety and storage regulations. Job Requirements

  • Open availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the shift, including frequent bending, lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds, and stooping
  • Ability to remain positive and productive in a potentially hot or cold work environment

Job Qualifications

  • 1 year of cooking experience in a fast-paced, full-service restaurant
  • Passion for excellence, superior service standards, and a positive attitude

Job Duties

  • Set up and stock station with all necessary supplies, ensuring proper inventory control
  • Cook and prepare menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff according to the Hogsalt Recipe Index, ensuring food quality and time standards are always met
  • Maintain a high level of communication, understand the verbiage for call backs of menu items, and keep lines of dialogue open and relevant to service
  • Answer, report to, and follow instructions and direction from Sous Chef, Executive Chef, or other leadership
  • Properly clean and break down station at the end of service, ensuring all food handling and food storage standards are met
  • Ensure that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations at all times
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers, leadership, vendors, and guests
