Job Requirements

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- culinary school education or related training is a plus
- previous experience in a kitchen or as a line cook preferred but not required
- ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment and handle pressure
- knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and safety standards
- strong knowledge of cooking techniques and food safety
- ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
- excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize
- good communication skills
- ability to work well as part of a team
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook food items according to standard recipes, portion sizes, and presentation guidelines
- ensure all dishes are cooked to the correct temperatures and meet quality standards
- maintain a clean and organized workstation while preparing ingredients
- follow instructions from kitchen manager or chef to ensure consistency
- season and cook food according to recipes or customer preferences
- ensure food is plated according to restaurant standards
- keep workstations clean and organized
- follow health and safety regulations
- ensure kitchen appliances and cooking equipment are properly maintained and cleaned
- perform regular cleaning of kitchen areas
- help track inventory levels of kitchen supplies and ingredients
- assist in receiving and storing deliveries properly
- report low inventory or supply shortages
- work with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation
- communicate effectively with front-of-house staff
- assist in training new cooks or kitchen staff
- adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines
- ensure proper handling, storage, and labeling of food items
- maintain awareness of allergen protocols
- work efficiently to prepare and cook dishes within specified timeframes
- manage multiple orders and tasks simultaneously during peak service times
