The Cook 2 position at Snowbird is more than just a kitchen job; it is an opportunity to be part of a vibrant culinary team that takes pride in delivering quality food in a fast-paced, high-energy resort environment. This full-time, year-round role is based at the Snowbird Center’s Steak Pit, where an emphasis is placed on maintaining food safety and preparation standards while crafting dishes that delight guests. The Cook 2 plays a vital role in ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly by preparing ingredients, assisting with cooking tasks, and maintaining cleanliness and order. Candidates with a strong sense of organization, the ability to multitask, and a positive attitude will thrive in this role. The schedule is varied and includes weekends and holidays to meet business demands, which offers those looking to immerse themselves in the resort lifestyle a chance to grow with the company over time. Furthermore, the position demands an ability to work well under pressure and uphold high kitchen hygiene and safety protocols. Snowbird values continuous employee development, offering ongoing training opportunities to keep skills current and staff engaged.
Working at Snowbird also means benefiting from a supportive work environment where team communication with chefs and fellow kitchen staff is vital for success. The role expects the candidate to handle kitchen tasks responsibly, including measuring ingredients, food preparation, and producing basic dishes such as salads and appetizers. Due consideration is given to the physical demands of the position, requiring candidates who can stand for long periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and adapt to a high-paced kitchen setting. Commuting to the resort is necessary, and during exceptional circumstances such as road closures, overnight stays may be required. In sum, this role suits passionate individuals who enjoy the culinary arts and want a workplace that values craftsmanship, teamwork, and an active lifestyle in one of Utah’s most scenic settings.
