The role of Line Cook at The Grainhouse is an essential position within the kitchen team, responsible for preparing and cooking food items accurately and efficiently across various meal shifts. Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • One year of experience as a cook preferably in a full-service dining restaurant
  • Food Handler’s Card or ServSafe Certification
  • Ability to maintain a safe work environment following all safety standards
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
  • Ability to take and execute direction
  • Maintain professionalism and composure in high volume and stressful situations

Job Qualifications

  • One year of cooking experience preferably in a full-service dining restaurant
  • Knowledge of safety and sanitation
  • Ability to take and execute direction
  • Possession of Food Handler’s Card or ServSafe Certification

Job Duties

  • Work various shift times including breakfast, lunch, and dinner
  • Comfortable working at action stations
  • Prepare all food items correctly and in a timely fashion
  • Communicate with Executive Chef and/or Sous Chef
  • Receive all food and supply deliveries and ensure proper rotation of new product
  • Put away and rotate all products in a timely manner
  • Follow all food preparation guidelines
  • Maintain and organize kitchen, sustaining FIFO in all refrigerator units
  • Stock refrigerators and freezers daily
  • Operate and clean food preparation equipment
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen according to Public Health guidelines
  • Follow all HACCP guidelines
  • Lift at least 50 pounds
  • Assist in other areas when not busy
  • Responsible for full setup and preparation of hot and cold food items for restaurants
  • Assist Chef and Sous Chef with organization and sanitation of main kitchen including walk-in coolers and freezers
