Job Description
The Foolery is poised to bring a fresh and inviting slice of Detroit's vibrant culture to the West Side of Grand Rapids. As the city’s newest fine dive bar, The Foolery invites patrons to enjoy a unique blend of comfort, innovation, and community. Focusing on Detroit-style, deep dish pizza, alongside expertly crafted cocktails and a carefully selected range of cold beers, this establishment creates a welcoming atmosphere ideal for both casual after-work gatherings and relaxed group dinners. The ambiance is tailored to be a welcoming refuge where customers can unwind, socialize, and savor exceptional food and beverages in an environment that harmonizes the spirited energy of Detroit with the laid-back charm of Grand Rapids.
As part of the Misfit family, which is known for its eclectic, vibrant establishments, The Foolery promises a distinctive dining experience that combines high-quality ingredients with a warm, inclusive vibe. The new spot is designed to become a staple in the local hospitality scene, a place where friends and colleagues alike can come together to enjoy great food, innovative cocktails, and excellent service. The emphasis on Detroit-style deep dish pizza means the kitchen is dedicated to delivering robust flavors that pay homage to this beloved cuisine, alongside a diverse menu featuring appetizers, desserts, and snacks that complement the main offerings.
We are currently seeking experienced hospitality professionals to join our growing team at The Foolery. Ideal candidates will thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments and bring passion and skill to their roles. The position offers an opportunity to work alongside culinary and hospitality leaders such as the General Manager, Executive Chef, Kitchen Manager, and Lead Line, providing a collaborative atmosphere for professional growth. In addition to working in a bustling, high-volume setting, team members will experience a culture that values dedication, creativity, and teamwork.
The role is designed for individuals who enjoy the craft of food preparation and cooking, with responsibilities including preparing ingredients, cooking using various techniques such as grilling, frying, and sautéing, and plating dishes to meet established standards. Attention to hygiene and food safety regulations is critical, ensuring that all operations maintain the highest levels of cleanliness and compliance. The position requires flexibility, as well as the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in a lively restaurant environment.
Joining The Foolery means becoming part of a visionary team that champions both tradition and innovation in dining. This is more than just a job; it is an opportunity to contribute to a growing culinary destination that delivers a distinctive taste of the Motor City to Grand Rapids. The Foolery is committed to creating an inclusive, supportive workplace where creative culinary professionals can shine and grow their careers while delighting guests with every dish and drink served.
