Bobby's Burgers by Bobby Flay is a dynamic and innovative fast-casual restaurant located in Charlotte, NC, specifically in the SouthPark area. Founded by the award-winning chef, restaurateur, and media personality Bobby Flay, this establishment embodies a unique culinary concept focused on delivering the ultimate burger experience. From its inception in Las Vegas in 2021, Bobby's Burgers has rapidly expanded, opening multiple locations including its latest in Charlotte and Utah in 2024. As a Back of House (BOH) line cook at Bobby's Burgers, you will play a crucial role in the fast-paced environment of this popular burger restaurant. The position involves preparing delicious, made-to-order food and maintaining the high standards associated with the brand. Flexibility is a key feature of this role, with all shifts available and the possibility of part-time or full-time scheduling options. Reporting directly to the onsite general manager, manager, or shift supervisor, the BOH team member is responsible for prepping, cooking, and presenting food to meet the company’s strict quality and safety standards. Kitchen duties encompass everything from food preparation and portioning to maintaining cleanliness and sanitation across all cooking and preparation areas. The role demands multitasking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service. Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) is mandatory, ensuring consistency in product quality and customer satisfaction.

Physical demands include standing or walking for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and exposure to various temperatures and food safety chemicals. This role suits individuals who are dependable, have a strong work ethic, and enjoy working in a team environment where guest service is a priority. Knowledge of food safety standards is important, and while ServSafe certification is valued, it is not a strict requirement. A high school diploma or equivalent is desired but not mandatory, and culinary or some college education is considered a plus. At least one year of experience in kitchen preparation or cooking is preferred.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent desired
  • Culinary and/or some college valued but not required
  • 1+ years minimum work experience in kitchen preparation or cooking in a restaurant or food service role desired
  • Ability to work assigned schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to meet health regulations regarding food handling
  • Ability to stand or walk for up to 8 hours
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals and varying temperatures

Job Duties

  • Prepares food during shifts by following the specifications
  • Prepares, washes, and cuts food that is to be cooked
  • Prepares and cooks food according to instructions provided on food, order slips, or through verbal directions
  • Verifies the quality and quantity of all orders
  • Multitasks by cooking several different orders at once, ensuring that all items are prepared in accordance with guest orders and at the highest quality
  • Maintains overall sanitation, health, cleanliness, and safety standards for food preparation areas, cooking surfaces dishes, and utensils
  • Measures food items and portions accurately
  • Adheres to all quality standards, portion sizes, policies, and procedures
  • Ensures all food is properly prepared in a timely manner and to specifications
  • Ensures proper storage of food by maintaining proper temperatures
  • Keeps all menu items fresh and ensures they retain the highest quality
  • Carries out opening and/or closing duties of their station(s)
  • Ensures equipment and workstation are adequately stocked, organized, and clean
  • Follows a clean-as-you-go philosophy
  • Adheres to all sanitation regulations and health codes
