Job Description
Spruce Peak is a premier mountain community nestled in the heart of Vermont's Green Mountains, offering a breathtaking natural setting that attracts visitors year-round. This unique location combines scenic beauty with luxury, positioned slope-side at Stowe Resort, which makes it an ideal destination for adventures, retreats, and special occasions like weddings. As part of the Hyatt family, Spruce Peak is committed to upholding high standards of service and teamwork across all departments, creating an environment that values collaboration, professionalism, and guest satisfaction. The community’s culinary program stands out as a fundamental aspect of the Spruce Peak experience, working closely with local farms to create globally inspired and seasonally driven menus that delight an international clientele. Guests appreciate the modern and inspired cuisine, the high-quality ingredients sourced regionally, and exclusive partnerships with celebrated fine brands such as WhistlePig and Jasper Hill, further elevating the culinary distinction of the establishment.
We are currently seeking talented and passionate Line Cooks to join our culinary team at Spruce Peak. This is more than a typical cooking role; it is an elevated culinary opportunity that spans multiple restaurant outlets on the resort, offering a dynamic environment to showcase and grow your culinary skills. Our workplace culture emphasizes empathy, work-life balance, and personal development, making it an ideal environment for culinary professionals who are eager to progress in their careers while enjoying the stunning outdoor lifestyle that Stowe has to offer. Employees at Spruce Peak not only benefit from competitive pay ranging between $22 to $27 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications, but also from opportunities to be placed at various cook levels, including Cook I, Cook II, or Cook III, recognizing the diverse skillsets and expertise within our team.
Choosing to work at Spruce Peak means joining a respected hospitality group that values diversity, creativity, and dedication. Our culinary team enjoys exposure to fine dining experiences, seasonal menus, and high-volume service that challenge and refine their craft. As part of the broader Hyatt hotel network, Spruce Peak employees gain access to an array of perks and benefits, including paid time off, health benefits after 30 days, complimentary ski passes to Stowe Mountain Resort during winter, summer golf memberships at the Stowe Country Club, onsite fitness memberships, employee discounts, and 401(k) matching programs. This comprehensive package supports both the health and well-being of our staff, allowing them to thrive professionally and personally.
Stowe itself enriches the employee experience with its active lifestyle opportunities: mountain biking, skiing, and thriving local craft beer and farm scenes provide an excellent backdrop for living and working in a community-focused, energetic environment. We welcome candidates at all career stages, encouraging those who may not meet every requirement but possess a passion for culinary arts and a desire to grow to apply. At Spruce Peak and Hyatt, each team member's contribution is valued and celebrated, fostering a culture where innovation and excellence flourish in every dish served and every guest interaction. Join us to build a rewarding culinary career with a company that truly values your unique experience and ambitions.
