The role of a kitchen team member at Salt Lake Brewing Co LC is pivotal in supporting the culinary operations behind the scenes. This position is responsible for assisting chefs and prep cooks with various duties that contribute to the preparation of menu items and the upkeep of kitchen work areas. Employees in this role focus on upholding the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and safety to ensure a seamless kitchen operation. The job encompasses preparing all menu items according to strict recipes and specifications, maintaining cleanliness and organization, managing cooking equipment temperatures, and assisting management and line cooks especially during busy periods.

This role is available on both a full-time and part-time basis, classified as non-exempt with hourly pay. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of relevant experience, hold a current food handler's permit, and possess a high school diploma or GED. Physical stamina and the ability to handle the mental demands of working in sometimes extreme and fast-paced kitchen environments are essential. Tasks include safely managing and stocking of kitchen and storage areas, coordinating preparation timing among kitchen stations, and ensuring all sanitary and safety protocols are meticulously followed. In addition, team members are expected to demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills, work efficiently both independently and as part of a team, and contribute positively to a respectful work atmosphere. This position does not involve supervisory responsibilities and reports directly to the Chef on Duty.

Job Duties

  • Prepares all menu items with strict adherence to recipes and standards
  • supports brand by protecting food quality and presentation
  • sets up and stocks station fully at the start of shifts
  • manages temperature of kitchen equipment such as ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters
  • maintains cleanliness and condition of kitchen equipment
  • assists management and other line cooks during high volume periods
  • completes assigned janitorial and cleaning tasks at end of shifts
