Spanish Hills Club is seeking a dedicated and experienced Line Cook to become an integral part of their food service team. This role is a fantastic opportunity for culinary professionals passionate about delivering high-quality dishes in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The Line Cook will be responsible for preparing menu items with precision according to established portion sizes and presentation standards, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, and supporting the sous chef with daily kitchen operations. The position entails maintaining the highest sanitary standards, coordinating order timings, and actively contributing to kitchen safety measures. Job Requirements

  • Completion of vocational school or a two-year associate degree
  • at least one year of cooking experience
  • excellent kitchen administration knowledge and ability to work as part of a team
  • strong organization and active listening skills
  • the ability to work on your feet for most of the day and lift 30 pounds at a time
  • exceptional time management skills

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prepares all required items
  • sets up service units with needed items
  • prepares items that are ordered in accordance with established portions and presentation standards
  • notifies sous chef of expected shortages
  • ensures that assigned work areas and equipment are clean and sanitary
  • assists the sous chef in maintaining security and safety in the kitchen
  • maintains neat professional appearance and observes personal cleanliness rules at all times
  • sets-up, maintains and breaks down prep cook station
  • requisitions items needed to produce menu items
  • adheres to state and local health and safety regulations
  • covers, dates and neatly stores all leftover products that are re-usable
  • maintains the highest sanitary standards
  • coordinates and times orders with other kitchen operations
  • makes recommendations for maintenance, repair and upkeep of the line prep area and equipment
  • attends staff meetings
  • assists with other duties as assigned by sous chef
