The role of Line Cook at Belmont Village Senior Living is a vital position within this mission. This temporary full-time role requires working shifts from 10:30am to 6:30pm, with days varying and including weekends, to support the culinary needs of the community. The Line Cook will be responsible for preparing meals from scratch in a commercial kitchen environment, adhering to company recipes and quality standards to provide an excellent dining experience for residents and their guests. This position involves multitasking in a fast-paced setting while managing food prep, plating, and kitchen organization. The ideal candidate is not only skilled in essential culinary techniques such as knife handling, accurate measurements, and cooking methods but is also reliable, empathetic, and capable of thriving in a physically active and team-oriented culture.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • professional, pleasant and team oriented attitude
  • must be able to communicate clearly in verbal and written English
  • minimum of 6 months Line Cook experience in a high volume restaurant setting
  • proven success with basic culinary skills such as knife handling, accurate measurements and cooking methods
  • ability to work assigned shifts including early morning, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
  • consistent and reliable attendance is essential
  • all offers of employment are conditional based on the successful completion of a State and Federal criminal background check, drug screen, job related physical and TB test

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum of 6 months Line Cook experience in a high volume restaurant setting

Job Duties

  • Prepare meals from scratch according to assigned recipe specifications and quality standards
  • follow recipes, manage portion control and ensure attractive plate presentation
  • properly manage cook times while preparing and efficiently managing several orders simultaneously
  • maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen ensuring compliance with regulations, policies and procedures
  • follow checklists and company procedures to ensure kitchen is stocked and well maintained at all times
  • make hospitality, customer service, and resident satisfaction your top priorities in every interaction
