The line cook position at Eureka! plays a fundamental role in upholding the restaurant's high standards of food preparation and customer satisfaction. Reporting directly to the Kitchen Manager, the line cook is responsible for preparing all menu items according to established quality and time standards. This involves precise execution of recipes, proper ingredient measurement, and cooking techniques geared toward ensuring every plate meets Eureka!'s expectations. Additionally, the line cook maintains cleanliness in the work area, including the grill and other kitchen equipment, contributing to a safe and sanitary kitchen environment.
This role requires a cooperative spirit, with line cooks interacting positively and professionally with co-workers and management. Consistent attendance, punctuality, and a positive attitude are key attributes for success in this role. The line cook also assists in other kitchen functions such as salad preparation, sautéing, assembling, and dish machine operations as needed, showcasing versatility and teamwork.
In terms of physical demands, the position requires prolonged standing, bending, twisting, and lifting within a fast-paced and sometimes physically demanding environment. The ability to work safely around hot, cold, and hazardous equipment while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency is essential.

Job Duties
- interact with co-workers in a friendly, enthusiastic, and professional manner
- consistent attendance and punctuality
- positive attitude
- compliance with employee handbook and training manuals
- assemble/dismantle workstation in a timely manner
- execute all recipes to the letter
- prepare all items within Eureka's quality and cook time standards
- place all items on appropriate plates according to verbal directions or written pivot points
- prepare all plates for final presentation
- toast buns/bread
- cook french fries to order
- keep station well stocked and sanitary
- maintain a clean grill, free of debris
- maintain clean and dry building
- set up and operate grill, oven, broiler, fryer, and all other equipment used
- verbally communicate with other line positions regarding the preparation of all items
- assist on salads, sauté and assembler positions, if needed
- label, date, and rotate all prepped items in accordance with Eureka's shelf life specifications
- read checks and respond to verbal requests from other kitchen staff members
- skim and clean fryers
- filter and/or change shortening, as needed
- assist prep, line or dish machine functions, when needed
