The seasonal Line Cook position at Hammons Field is a dynamic role designed for individuals who thrive in fast-paced kitchens and have a passion for culinary arts. This role focuses on preparing various food items that meet stringent quality standards and guest expectations, including classic ballpark fare like burgers and hot dogs as well as more diverse dishes such as steaks, grilled chicken, pastas, and vegetables. Line Cooks collaborate closely with the serving team to ensure timely and accurate meal preparation and delivery, maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitized kitchen environment.

This role offers a competitive wage of $17.00 per hour, with shift schedules primarily during evenings, weekends, and events to accommodate the natural flow of guests and activities at Hammons Field. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for ensuring all food is prepared in compliance with Delaware North's portion sizes, quality standards, and safety protocols. This includes proper storage practices, maintaining food freshness, and preparing dishes to exact specifications. The role requires performing opening, closing, and side work duties, as well as managing inventory and waste control documentation. Given the physical and active nature of the job, candidates must be capable of lifting up to 35 pounds, standing and walking throughout their shift, and using manual kitchen tools effectively.

  • At least 1 year of previous experience in a back-of-the-house food service position
  • Ability to read and comprehend prep sheets and recipes
  • Basic math skills, with the ability to calculate and follow recipe measurements
  • No high school diploma or GED required

Job Duties

  • Prepare food to comply with all portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies, and procedures ensuring proper food temperatures are maintained, food is stored correctly, the freshness and quality of all menu items, and packages all products to proper specifications
  • Prepare a variety of different foods for our Suites including ballpark classics like burgers and hot dogs as well as steaks, grilled chicken, pastas, vegetables, etc
  • Keep workstations, coolers, and equipment clean, organized, sanitized, and sufficiently stocked
  • Use waste control guidelines and record all waste on the spoilage sheet
  • Perform opening, closing, and side work duties and end-of-day inventory
