The Line Cook position at Proof of the Pudding, specifically within the Roughriders Field team in Frisco, Texas, offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast-paced and dynamic culinary environment. This role is seasonal and part-time, fitting the business needs dictated by athletic events that draw crowds and create vibrant atmospheres for food service. The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking various food items that meet the high standards of taste, appearance, and quality expected by guests. Working under the direction of the Executive Chef and Sous Chef, the Line Cook will play a critical role in setting up and sanitizing workstations, following detailed prep lists, measuring ingredients accurately, and producing simple yet consistently delicious dishes. This role demands a strong focus on food safety, timely execution, and maintaining cleanliness and organization within the kitchen environment.

The position offers competitive hourly pay ranging from $18 to $20 per hour, along with valuable benefits such as a daily meal per shift, opportunities for advancement within the company, and on-the-job training that enhances culinary skills applicable across the hospitality industry. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • minimum 1 year of kitchen experience
  • ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain certification
  • ability to work evenings and weekends including all home baseball games
  • ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • manual dexterity to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils
  • ability to stand and move throughout event spaces for prolonged periods
  • strong communication skills
  • adherence to company uniform requirements
  • reliable and able to follow through on assigned tasks
  • commitment to safety and sanitation standards

Job Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience working in a kitchen, experience in catering is preferred
  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • ServSafe certified or available to receive training
  • capable of producing a consistent product in a timely manner
  • excellent listening and communication skills
  • must understand food safety practices including, but not limited to, TCS, temperature logs, and cleaning/sanitizing
  • planning and multi-tasking skills
  • self-motivated with a high energy level and strong verbal communication
  • availability to work all home baseball games

Job Duties

  • Setting up and sanitizing workstations
  • following prep lists that are created by lead culinary
  • measuring ingredients and seasonings
  • preparing cooking ingredients such as soup stock (HOT FOODS) to be used in the cooking process
  • preparing simple dishes as directed by the Executive Chef
  • ensuring all food items are properly stored and easily accessible
  • assisting chefs in preparing food and attending to any culinary tasks that arise
  • supervising food and cooling room temperatures
  • accepting or rejecting ingredients from suppliers
  • maintaining a clean, orderly, and sanitized kitchen
  • maintaining the highest level of food quality with your culinary team
  • ensure proper safety and sanitation of all kitchen/food service areas
  • running food on game-days
  • performing other related duties as required
