The Line Cook and Prep Cook roles at JOEY Restaurants are vital to upholding the brand's promise of delivering world-class culinary experiences. These positions offer a base wage between $16.90 and $30.00 per hour, complemented by eligibility for the company’s tip pool. On average, employees in these roles may earn an additional $3.00 to $10.00 per hour in tips, reflecting the rewarding nature of providing exceptional service in a dynamic environment. As a Line Cook, you are expected to be a master of your craft, operating with consistency, precision, and speed to prepare and deliver menu items according to JOEY’s high standards. Attention to detail, adherence to recipes, and maintaining food quality are key aspects of the role, alongside fostering a clean and safe kitchen environment. Conversely, the Prep Cook role focuses on preparing all ingredients and components that enable the entire team to execute flawlessly. Job Requirements

  • 1-3+ years culinary experience
  • Must have or be able to obtain valid local and/or state Food Handler and California Responsible Beverage Service certifications

  • Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prep all ingredients and food products to fulfill prep lists, par levels, and recipe standards
  • Utilize various prep and cooking methods to ensure the quick, precise creation of menu items in accordance with JOEY recipes
  • Wash, chop, cut, grill, roast, sauté, fry, etc
  • Coordinate with other stations
  • Develop knife skills for efficiency and safety
  • Communicate with the team to deliver perfect food coordination
  • Maintain prep and cooking areas in a clean, sanitary, and safe manner
  • Clean, organize, and maintain refrigerators, cooler drawers, ovens, prep and dry storage areas
  • Complete assigned side work and closing duties to set your team up for success
  • Stock, clean, and organize line stations
  • Follow all instructions and guidelines for safe usage of kitchen equipment and cleaning compounds
  • Report equipment problems and maintenance issues to leadership immediately
  • Follow all food service and handling safety precautions and procedures
