The Line Cook position operates Thursday to Monday from 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM, including weekends and holidays, as the facility functions around the clock. This role offers competitive pay starting from $23.00 to $25.00 per hour, reflecting the importance of experienced culinary skills and commitment to service in a senior living setting.\n\nAs a Line Cook at Baywood Court, the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing a variety of foods including soups, stocks, sauces, and meals according to standardized recipes and dietary requirements. The position demands meticulous attention to food quality, temperature, and presentation, ensuring that every meal served supports the health and satisfaction of residents. Collaboration with kitchen staff and timely food production planning are core components to meet meal schedules and uphold operational excellence.\n\nApplicants are expected to complete the employment application online to proceed in the hiring process, with mandatory completion of a 4-panel drug screening, physical examination with tuberculosis testing, and criminal background checks that include minor misdemeanors and DUIs. Job Requirements

  • must be able to work weekends and holidays
  • complete and pass 4-panel drug screening
  • complete physical exam with tuberculosis skin test
  • pass criminal clearance through FBI and Department of Justice including minor misdemeanors and DUIs
  • must be able to stand or walk for up to 8 hours per day
  • must be able to bend, stoop, and stretch frequently
  • manual dexterity for preparing food
  • may be exposed to extreme temperatures and industrial cleaning chemicals
  • must be able to see, hear, and communicate with others

  • knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance

Job Duties

  • prepares all soups, stocks, sauces
  • boils, braises and roasts items as per standardized recipes
  • prepares and serves all sauteed, fried, grilled, steamed and baked items as per standardized recipes
  • prepares or directs the preparation of all food served, following standard recipes and special diet orders
  • plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours, so that excellence, quality, temperature and appearance of food is preserved
  • determines amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus and seeing that supplies are obtained in adequate time for meal production
