We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Line Cook Supervisor to join our team. This is a full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to lead and support our line cooks in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment. The successful candidate will be charged with preparing menu items in strict accordance with recipes and yield guides while overseeing the day-to-day activities of the line cooks. This role requires a unique blend of culinary proficiency, leadership, and organizational skills to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen's production line.
In this role, you will be responsible for directing, training, and monitoring the performance of line cooks, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in all work areas, and ensuring that all stations are set up with the required tools and supplies to meet daily operational requirements. You will coordinate production and prep work assignments, managing priorities effectively and communicating any changes promptly to your team to adapt efficiently throughout the shift. Additionally, you will play a key role in inventory control by informing the Sous Chef of any supply needs for upcoming production tasks.
This position demands a high degree of flexibility as you may be required to work varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to meet the demands of our hospitality business. Job Requirements
- 5 years' experience as a line cook at a hotel/resort or restaurant
- Ability to work all stations on the line
- Food handling certification required
- High work ethic and self-initiative
- Willingness to work varying schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lift and/or move 10-25 pounds as needed
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, or carry items occasionally
- Availability to work in fast-paced kitchen environment
Job Qualifications
- 5 years' experience as a Line Cook at a hotel/resort or restaurant
- Ability to work all stations on the line
- Food handling certification
- High work ethic and self-initiative
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills
Job Duties
- Prepare all menu items following recipes and yield guides
- Directs, trains, and monitors performance of Line Cooks
- Maintains organization, cleanliness, and sanitation of work areas and equipment
- Prepare and assign production and prep work for Line Cooks to complete
- Review priorities
- Communicate additions or changes to the assignments as they arise throughout the shift
- Set up work station with required mis en place, tools, equipment and supplies
- Breakdown work stations and complete closing duties at the end of last shift of the day
- Inform the Sous Chef of any supplies that need to be requisitioned for the day's tasks
