We are currently seeking motivated, dependable individuals to join our team as Line Cooks and Prep Cooks. These roles are integral to our kitchen operations, responsible for preparing menu items that meet our precise recipes and quality benchmarks. Shawarma Guys offers a structured pay increase plan starting at $19.00 per hour after the introductory hiring period, with shared tips typically ranging from $3.00 to $6.00 per hour. Employees are encouraged to develop their skills and advance professionally, with potential hourly wage increases of up to $3.00 within 14 months and promotion opportunities into assistant-level roles earning up to $24.00 per hour.

At Shawarma Guys, cooks and prep cooks will perform daily preparation of proteins, marinades, sides, and ingredients, ensuring portion control and adherence to standardized recipes. Maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation at all times is a key component, coupled with strict adherence to food safety and sanitation protocols. Teamwork and communication are essential as the kitchen staff collaborates to ensure smooth and efficient service. This is a part-time, in-person role based in San Diego. Prospective applicants should have at least two years of experience in a fast-casual or high-volume kitchen setting, strong knife skills, and the ability to follow directions while working independently. Physical ability to safely lift over 50 pounds repeatedly is required, as well as a professional, respectful attitude and strong performance under pressure. Familiarity with Middle Eastern cuisine, particularly shawarma, and bilingual ability in English and Spanish are considered an asset.
