Job Description

Il Forno Pizza is a renowned wood-fired pizza restaurant that has been serving its community for over 10 years. Located at 122 Nogalitos Street, this award-winning establishment emphasizes the use of local produce and seasonal menu offerings, making it a standout in the culinary scene both locally and nationally. Il Forno prides itself on maintaining high standards in food quality, preparation, and customer service, ensuring that every guest experiences the authentic taste of wood-fired pizza crafted with passion and precision. The restaurant's commitment to excellence and community growth has made it a favorite dining destination where guests can enjoy a unique and flavorful pizza experience.

The role available at Il Forno Pizza is a back of house crew member position, ideal for applicants who are eager to learn and grow within a kitchen environment. While experience in a scratch pizza kitchen is preferred, the restaurant is open to training enthusiastic individuals who demonstrate a strong ability to listen, learn, and apply new skills. This position offers both full-time (35-40 hours per week) and part-time (20-30 hours per week) employment opportunities with competitive pay starting at $16 per hour and a bi-weekly pay frequency. Working at Il Forno means joining a team dedicated to culinary excellence and teamwork, where employees are supported in developing their cooking skills and advancing their careers.

As a back of house crew member, you will be responsible for preparing food items in a sanitary and timely manner, following precise recipes and presentation standards. You will operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining a clean and organized workspace that adheres to food safety and sanitation codes. The kitchen environment at Il Forno encourages a sense of urgency balanced with attention to detail, ensuring that every dish leaving the kitchen meets the restaurant's high-quality standards.

This position also values specific kitchen skills such as basic knife handling, the ability to follow directions meticulously, and experience working in professional kitchens for at least one year. Additionally, having the ability to stretch and ball pizza dough is considered a significant advantage, as it supports the restaurant's emphasis on scratch-made pizza. Beyond technical skills, employees at Il Forno benefit from a positive work schedule with no late nights, as the establishment closes at 9 PM on weekdays and 10 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. The restaurant also has regular closing days on Sundays and Mondays, as well as being closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas, offering a balanced work-life environment.

Beyond competitive wages, Il Forno offers perks such as employee discounts across two different restaurants, creating an engaging and rewarding work atmosphere. If you are passionate about learning culinary arts, eager to develop new skills in a supportive environment, and want to be part of a respected restaurant that values quality and community, Il Forno Pizza is the perfect place to start or continue your kitchen career.
