The Line Cook position at Stonebridge is an essential role focused on preparing and cooking food in alignment with the company’s rigorous quality standards. This part-time role offers an hourly wage of $24.00 and reports directly to the Lead Cook or Restaurant Supervisor. The Line Cook operates in a well-organized kitchen, where efficiency, precision, and cleanliness are paramount. The individual in this role is responsible for multiple food preparation tasks, including handling pantry items, sandwiches, salads, and desserts. Under the guidance of the chef, the Line Cook contributes to various meal services, ensuring every dish is prepared consistently, safely, and with a keen eye for detail.

This role involves much more than basic food preparation; it requires culinary proficiency, speed, and discipline within a high-paced kitchen environment. The ideal candidate understands the importance of food safety protocols, maintains a clean and well-stocked work area, and can follow recipes and instructions accurately to deliver consistent quality. Practical knowledge of cooking metrics and conversion methods is necessary to achieve the precise execution of recipes. The Line Cook is also tasked with managing guest orders in a friendly and timely manner, visually inspecting food prior to service, and preparing requisitions for supplies as needed.

Job Requirements

  • Associate's degree in culinary arts or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
  • six months to one year of related experience and/or training
  • Safe Serve/Food Handler's certification required
  • ability to use cooking metrics and conversion methods for measurements
  • ability to follow recipes and instructions
  • excellent time management and organizational skills
  • flexibility to work long hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • works in a kitchen environment with varying temperatures

Job Duties

  • Prepares all ingredients for the shift before service begins
  • operates the cooking station efficiently and safely, following hotel standards
  • prepares food items according to designated recipes and quality standards
  • maintains cleanliness and complies with food sanitation standards at all times
  • practices safe food handling, preparation, cooking, and storage methods
  • produces high-quality food, with a focus on pantry items, sandwiches, salads, and desserts
  • manages guest orders in a friendly and timely manner
  • inspects all food visually before sending it from the kitchen
  • ensures workspace is fully stocked and follows opening and closing procedures
  • handles and stores all food items properly, following safety standards
  • prepares requisitions for supplies and food items, as needed
  • follows written or verbal instructions from the Chef or supervisor
