The role available at Polly's is a Bakery Baker position, focused on supporting daily production and ensuring that all items meet the brand’s stringent standards for quality and freshness. This employment opportunity offers a compensation range between $16.00 to $20.00 per hour, reflecting the skills and dedication expected from the candidate. In this role, the baker is responsible for preparing a variety of baked goods including breads, rolls, muffins, cinnamon rolls, cookies, quiches, and seasonal fresh fruit toppings. The baker must be proficient in using established recipes, exact portions, and a variety of baking methods to ensure consistency and quality. Daily tasks also include managing inventory by properly labeling and rotating ingredients and finished products, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and adhering to all relevant health, safety, and sanitation standards. Communication is a key aspect, requiring collaboration with coaching teams to relay production counts and notify management of any issues related to product quality or inventory shortages.

The baker must operate bakery equipment such as ovens and mixers effectively and be skilled in measuring and adjusting recipes using scales and thermometers. Flexibility is essential as the role demands working various shifts including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Job Requirements

  • At least 1 year prior work experience preferred as a cook, baker, or enrollment in a culinary program
  • Ability to use scales, thermometers, measuring, and divide and multiply recipes
  • Good organizational, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with baking equipment including oven, mixers, etc
  • Clear understanding of kitchen and food safety guidelines
  • Valid Food Handlers Card (if required by county)

Job Duties

  • Prepare products using all methods, established portions, and recipes for baking preparation
  • Manages daily production and communication of product counts with Coaching team
  • Prepare breakfast items for bake including quiche, cinnamon rolls, muffins, etc
  • Prepare and bake bread items including loaves, buns, rolls, cookies, etc
  • Daily preparation of seasonal fresh fruit for pies and toppings
  • Clean all bake related machines, workstations, transit trays, and instruments too large for dishwasher
  • Responsible to properly label, organize and rotate bake ingredients in freeze and storage areas
  • Rotates bake inventory (merchandise and product supplies) to maintain freshness and quality, make products fresh daily
  • Receive orders, check invoices, and put deliveries away as needed
  • Prepare kitchen for the day including making sure everything is secure, lighting the oven, etc
  • Notify the Coaches of any food quality issues, inconsistencies of product with recipes, low inventory, etc
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary bake area and station at all times
  • Comply with established weight and measures, health, sanitation, and safety policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Protect the Brand through promoting and providing extraordinary service when interacting with team members and guests
  • Demonstrate dependable leadership qualities to work primarily unassisted, and is proactive to escalate matters as needed
  • Flexible to cross train in other functions for back of the house/kitchen areas
  • Must be available to work morning, afternoon, and evening shifts
