This exciting opportunity is for a culinary professional to join The DAYTONA Hotel as a key member of the kitchen team. The role requires a versatile and skilled individual who can work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and varied shifts. Responsibilities include creating and designing new and unique menu items that align with the hotel’s high culinary standards. The candidate will support the Executive Chef in budget establishment and adherence, ensuring food and beverage products consistently meet the hotel’s quality specifications. The role demands meticulous attention to equipment cleanliness and maintenance through consistent inspections and adherence to culinary preventative maintenance programs.
Additionally, compliance with all federal, state, county, and municipal regulations concerning health, safety, and labor in the kitchen environment is a critical component of the role. The individual must contribute to maintaining an organized, sanitary, and efficient kitchen environment, while planning, prepping, and setting up high-quality food service in all designated outlets. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a line cook or relevant role
- Culinary certification preferred
- Food safety certification preferred
- Ability to work flexible schedule including weekends holidays and varied shifts
- Physical stamina and strength conducive to kitchen work
- Knowledge of health safety and labor regulations pertaining to food service environments
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience as a line cook or in a relevant culinary role
- Great attention to detail and creativity in food preparation
- High school diploma or equivalent culinary certification and food safety certification preferred
- In depth knowledge of sanitation principles food preparation baking techniques and nutrition
- Safe food handling certificate preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests management and co-workers
- Physical strength and stamina to endure long hours of standing and repetitive motions
Job Duties
- Be available to work a flexible schedule including weekends holidays and varied shifts
- Create and design new and unique menu items
- Assist the Executive Chef in the establishment of department budgets and adhere to budget guidelines
- Ensure all food and beverage products are prepared and served according to hotel standards
- Maintain cleanliness and excellent working condition of all kitchen equipment through inspections and preventive maintenance
- Fully understand and comply with all relevant health safety and labor regulations pertaining to kitchen operations associates and guests
- Plan prep set up and provide quality service for food production in designated outlets according to standards and plating specifications
- Maintain organization cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment
