The Line Cook position at Oak View Group represents a key role within the culinary operations of this influential entertainment company. The Line Cook is entrusted with preparing high-quality menu items using various cooking equipment in a fast-paced environment typical of large-scale events and venues. This position operates under stringent food quality standards to ensure guest satisfaction and uphold OVG’s reputation for excellence. Candidates for this role will be expected to manage portion control efficiently, minimize food waste, and maintain top-level sanitation standards throughout kitchen operations. Preference is given to those with banquet cooking experience, reflecting the dynamic and event-driven nature of the work environment.

This role is a part-time position offering an hourly wage ranging from $13.00 to $17.00. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous culinary experience preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Pass a background check if required
  • Possess valid food handling certificate if required by state and federal regulations
  • ServSafe certification required

Job Qualifications

  • Previous cook or prep cook experience
  • Experience with cooking for large events and banquets preferred
  • Able to operate standard kitchen equipment to including the broiler, steamer, convection oven, mixer, meat slicer and chef knife
  • Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, business-like and respectful manner which focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • Possess valid food handling certificate if required by state and federal regulations
  • ServSafe certification required

Job Duties

  • Responsible for providing high quality, fresh food products in a timely manner for delivery to guests
  • Prepares hot and cold foods following company recipes and portioning requirements
  • Participates as a team player with specific responsibilities as related to preparation, excellent service and delivery of product
  • Responsible for reporting any maintenance required for kitchen equipment
  • Maintains sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas
  • Responsible for observing and testing foods to ensure proper cooking
  • Responsible for portioning, arranging and garnishing food plates for delivery to guests
  • Responsible for consulting with Executive Chef, Sous Chef or Kitchen Supervisor to plan menus and estimate expected food consumption
  • Must show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance
