Located in downtown Phoenix, Oak View Group in partnership with Major Food Group operates the exclusive members-only club and restaurant known as Ra Ra Room. This fine dining concept caters to a discerning clientele seeking high-quality culinary experiences paired with impeccable service standards. As part of their continued expansion and commitment to maintaining excellence, Oak View Group is currently seeking dedicated and experienced hospitality professionals to join the Ra Ra Room team as Line Cooks. This role is part-time with a competitive hourly wage ranging from $20.00 to $22.00.
The Line Cook position is integral to the restaurant's operations. Individuals in this role are responsible for preparing food that meets the highest standards of quality and presentation, ensuring an extraordinary dining experience for guests. The Line Cook will prepare hot and cold dishes following established company recipes and precise portioning requirements. Their duties often involve direct interaction with guests in areas such as buffet lines, requiring a professional demeanor and excellent communication skills. Maintaining sanitation, health, and safety standards is crucial, as is reporting any maintenance needs promptly to ensure the kitchen operates at peak efficiency.
Teamwork is emphasized in this fast-paced, event-driven environment where each member has specific responsibilities that contribute to overall service excellence. The Line Cook must hold a valid food handling certificate if mandated by state or federal regulations, with ServSafe certification being preferred. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous cook or prep cook experience
- Valid food handling certificate if required
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Must have reliable transportation
- Ability to follow detailed instructions
- Strong work ethic and commitment to attendance
Job Qualifications
- Previous cook or prep cook experience
- Able to operate standard kitchen equipment including the broiler, steamer, convection oven, mixer, meat slicer and chef knife
- Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, business-like and respectful manner which focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment
- Ability to speak, read and write in English
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
- Possess valid food handling certificate if required by state and federal regulations
- ServSafe preferred
Job Duties
- Responsible for providing high quality, fresh food products in a timely manner for delivery to guests
- Prepares hot and cold foods following company recipes and portioning requirements
- Participates as a team player with specific responsibilities as related to preparation, excellent service and delivery of product
- Responsible for reporting any maintenance required for kitchen equipment
- Maintains sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas
- Responsible for observing and testing foods to ensure proper cooking
- Responsible for portioning, arranging and garnishing food plates for delivery to guests
- Responsible for consulting with Executive Chef, Sous Chef or Kitchen Supervisor to plan menus and estimate expected food consumption
- Must show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance
