Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in cooking or food preparation preferred
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
- Must be able to follow recipes and portion control guidelines
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including events
- Valid food handling certificate if applicable
- Commitment to excellent attendance and punctuality
Job Qualifications
- Previous cook or prep cook experience highly preferred
- Able to operate standard kitchen equipment including broiler steamer convection oven mixer meat slicer and chef knife
- Ability to communicate clearly respectfully and professionally with employees coworkers volunteers management staff and guests
- Ability to work well in a team oriented fast paced event driven environment
- Possess a valid food handling certificate if required by state and federal regulations
- ServSafe preferred
Job Duties
- Provide high-quality fresh food products in a timely manner
- Prepare hot and cold foods following company recipes and portion requirements
- Participate as a team player with responsibilities related to preparation and delivery of products
- Report maintenance needs for kitchen equipment
- Maintain sanitation health and safety standards in work areas
- Observe and test foods to ensure proper cooking
- Portion arrange and garnish food plates for guests
- Consult with Executive Chef Sous Chef or Kitchen Supervisor to plan menus and estimate consumption
- Demonstrate excellent attendance
