The Line Cook is responsible for preparing food items, both hot and cold, according to company recipes and standards, maintaining portion control, and ensuring presentation is appealing for guests. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in cooking or food preparation preferred
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Availability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and event days
- Ability to follow health and safety regulations
- Excellent attendance record
- Food handling certification if required by law
Job Qualifications
- Previous cook or prep cook experience highly preferred
- Able to operate standard kitchen equipment including broiler, steamer, convection oven, mixer, meat slicer, and chef knife
- Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management, and guests
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
- Possess a valid food handling certificate if required by state and federal regulations
- ServSafe certification preferred
Job Duties
- Provide high-quality fresh food products in a timely manner for guests
- Prepare hot and cold foods following company recipes and portioning requirements
- Participate as a team member to deliver excellent service and product
- Report maintenance needs for kitchen equipment
- Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas
- Observe and test foods to ensure proper cooking
- Portion, arrange, and garnish food plates for guests
- Consult with Executive Chef, Sous Chef or Kitchen Supervisor to plan menus and estimate food consumption
- Demonstrate excellent attendance and availability for scheduled events
